The award-winning actor Gu Kai is somehow teleported to a non-existent state called Wuli and becomes the wife of the overbearing king. While he acts obedient to keep himself safe, Gu Kai has encounters with the empress dowager and consorts, making his trip there an amusing piece of palace intrigue where dangers are always looming ahead.
